I'm getting ready to color some major art pieces that I can’t mess up on, lol, and I'm just not happy with how my coloring just looks so "digital" (I don't even know if a publishing company would accept digital artwork anyway, even if it didn't look it). So I did this as practice to see if I could get a more "traditional" feel to a digital piece. I'm actually quite happy with the outcome on the armor, not so much to boy (Really sloppy, lol!) and background but I wanted to keep the bgnd very simple so I could do this in one sitting. I might have overdone the shadows a bit but oh well, I can only improve from here. I would love to hear your thoughts on it and how I can possible make it better for other pictures. Any tips for making traditional looking artwork with GIMP would be great! I've been wanting to do Alphonse (from Full Metal Alchemist) for a while now and thought this would be a good piece to mess with.
Time - 2, maybe 3 hours at max Tools - Gimp and a computer mouse

You may not use this work in any way as the artwork belongs to me and Alphonse Elric belongs to Hiromu Arakawa. Besides, I hold the progress shots, mwahahah!
